Too often, we hear in the news about the rising trend in childhood obesity rates. According to the World Obesity Federation's Atlas of Childhood Obesity, in the United States, 26% of five to nine year olds and 24% of 10 to 19 year olds will be obese by 2030. This means that roughly 1 out of every 4 children are on the road to obesity, unless something drastic changes in their lifestyle and diet. As a parent, educator or general community member, this fact is very unsettling. Clearly there are substantial health concerns for these children, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and high risk for diabetes and cardiovascular disease. iRun4Life's mission is to help these boys and girls learn about exercise and get them moving and eating healthy.
Please join us and help our next generation establish life-long habits for good health and fitness. You can help us in our mission to reduce childhood obesity by volunteering, sponsoring or donating to iRun4Life.
